mtlebrato.com: About Me

Portrait: Mary T. Lebrato Welcome to my cyberspace!

Just a little bit about me:

Since 1992 I have been exploring and nurturing my creative side by studying art under the expert tutelage of local and internationally known artists such as Joyce O’Connor, Marbo Barnard, and Waneda Harbuck. I have been a member and past President of the Highlands Artist Guild.

I primarily paint animals and pet portraits in pastel, and sometimes use pen and ink, colored pencil, and, occassionally, watercolor.

I exhibit my artwork/photography in various local shows and locations in the greater Sacramento area. Recently, I had work in an exhibit at the Kennedy Gallery and at the Sacramento County Board of Supervisor's Building. And I was awarded Best Of Show for my pastel silverback gorilla - how exciting!

Because of the need to paint from original photos, several years ago I began a journey in the exploration of digital photography. I love this medium as a creative expression and especially enjoy it when I am able to capture the "soul" or essence of an animal through its eyes or the spirit of the subject of a particular photograph through my visual interpretation. I hope you enjoy my work.

There is an opportunity for you to purchase note cards of some of the photos through this site if you find that my work moves you in such a way that you would like to have some of it in your space. Also, If you would like a print of a particular photo please email me and we can determine your needs and pricing.

Thank you for your interest.

Mary
